Journal of Migraine Sufferers

Hello again, It is 5:01 am and I still have four hours untill my refill. My daughters friend is taking me to the pharmacy. My hubby didn't want to take time off of work to take me untill noon. The pharmacy opens at 9:00 am so that is when I'll get there with my daughters friend. I still haven't had much sleep as my headache makes it immpossible to get comfortable. I feel so guilty that I take my hubby away from work or make him drive half of the night to see my Dr. My daughter is getting frustrated with me and sometimes she calls me an addicted mom and that hurts. She moved out once because of it and was gone for a year living with friends. She understands more now. I don't know what kind of Dr. I'll get down here But I do have to have one or they won't give me anything at the hospital anymore without a pain contract with a local Dr. My Dr. and I already have a pain contract in effect up there. I can only have 1 pain shot per seven day period. They won't honor it down here. Has anyone had this happen to them. Also has anyone had an attorney contact them as to a lawsuit involving Stadol. This attorney e-mailed me his name was David Shapiro. If anyone knows about this please let me know. lots of luck to all who are in pain. Tay Hodges

I AM 36 YRS OLD AND HAVE SUFFERED FROM MIGRAINES SINCE I WAS A CHILD.TO FURTHER ADD TO THIS PROBLEM I HAD LEFT TEMPORAL LOBECTOMY AT THE AGE OF 18 TO REMOVE A TUMOUR THAT WAS CAUSING ME TO HAVE EPILEPTIC SEIZURES. THE RESULT OF THE OPERATION WAS SUCCESSFUL AS FAR AS THE EPILEPSY IS CONCERNED. NO SEIZURES OR MEDS IN 18 YRS, BUT THE MIGRAINES ARE GETTING WORSE AS I GET OLDER. THE HAD TO REMOVE A SECTION OF MY SKULL TO REMOVE THE AREA THAT HAD THE TUMOUR. THE SECTION THEY REMOVED IS STILL VERY TENDER TO THIS DAY, AND IT MAKES A MIGRAINE TEN TIMES WORSE BECAUSE OF THE SCAR. THE MIGRAINES I HAVE SUFFERED HAVE GOTTEN WORSE AS I GET OLDER, AND SEEM TO BE AT THIER WORST IN THE MORNINGS OR VERY LATE AT NIGHT, SOMETIMES WAKING ME UP 2 OR 3 TIMES. THEY HAVE GONE FROM ONCE IN A BLUE MOON TO WHAT I AM CURRENTLY SUFFERING, WHICH HAS BEEN CONSTANT NOW FOR THREE WEEKS, NO RELIEF IN SIGHT. I HAVE TRIED ALL THE DRUGS, IMITREX DIDN'T REALLY DO MUCH BUT I HAD TO STOP BECAUSE OF THE EFFECTS IT HAD ON MY HEART. ERGO DRUGS, MASSAGE THERAPY, ACCUPUNCTURE AND BELLERGAL EVERYDAY FOR QUITE A WHILE. FINALLY THE ONLY THINGS I TAKE ARE FIORINAL C 1/2, TWO AT A TIME OR DEMEROL WHEN I CAN'T TAKE IT ANY MORE. ANY SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED MY E-MAIL IS AT THE BOTTOM, AGAIN THANKS FOR LISTENING.

I suffer from cluster migranes. Never had a regular migrane. They started when i was eighteen. I'm 38 now. The last cluster i had was when i was 35 and the doctor prescribed imitrex and it worked. It would kill the headache within five minutes. I took two injections twice a day for six weeks my headaches were gone finally. Then the following month I was diagnoised with guillain barre syndrome and hospitallized for seven days. My nerologist told me that other patients reported not having any headaches after GBS however three years eight months later the clusters are back. Im curious as to if anyone else has experienced this also?

Woke up with another headache. Hate waking up with them, sometimes they respond to meds, sometimes they don't. Took a couple of excedrin. That's what I usually start out with when I have a fairly bad headache. I hope to avoid using midrin today, but can't count on it. Headaches are probably reactions to stress. Things going on in my family, a lot of tension, that sort of thing. I try to hide from it and listen to soft music on my stereo, but it does not always keep the migraines at bay. I wish there was a way to cope with this besides medication, but at least daily preventative keeps me from getting real bad ones too often. I just have to cope with them once a month or so around my period, or like now, with family stress and holiday stress and always work stress. Stress upon stress. Probably the reason I am having such a hard time coping with all of this, and the headaches are coming on more frequently. Three in the space of a week and a half. Have to find new ways to cope with this, or I will be sick all through the holidays.
