HAPPY HALLOWEEN, Greeting fellow sufferers. I was hoping that my vacation
would be pain free. Let me tell you that traveling by jet & puddle jumper
is NOT conducive to migraneures. I am currently in CT for Halloween.
I was planning on going out last night when WHAMMO! I got one of my
headaches. I had felt the tension building and took my muscle relaxant
(soma) to head it off. Unfortunately I must have had something with
MSG in it because the soma didn't work, neither did the imitrex or my
furinol. The only thig left was to go homw & sleep. I know I dissapointed
my friends, because they stayed home to make sure I'd be all right. I
feel terrible about ruining their plans. Today I woke up feeling wiped out.
We have plans to attend 3 Fall/Halloween activities. I hope that I am
able to join them. I have started the day on meds & really hope that the
migraine does not come back *fingers crossed*. I think that traveling
by jet may have triggered it because of the change in air pressure. For those
of you who ask, YES TEMP & WEATHER CHANGES CAN TRIGGER MIGRAINES!!!
This is to the person who asked about FMLA. Your friend needs to go
to her company's HR dept. and apply. They will give her paperwork that
she & her Doctor will need to fill out in a VERY SMALL amount of time, usually
15 days total to get it turned back to the proper dept. (SEND IT RETN RECPT REQ'D)
And they will CONSIDER her for the coverage. If there has been any type
of hospitalization of ER visits, her chances are higher. She wants to
have INTERMITENT LEAVE. This allows 480 hrs of unpaid time off due to
a chronic condition. Please encourage her to seek this. I have been
covered since JAN 4,1998 and would have lost my job with out it.
Blessings to you all. Have a SAFE & SANE Halloween! ~~DIANNA~~

HELP! My wife has been in the hopital for the last 2 days with a severe headache. It is based in the back of her head. She is going on 2 weeks with the pain. She has had 2 C-scans and 1 MRI, and blood work and they find nothing! Can you have a migraine without the other symptoms? She has had a bunch of drugs that have taken it away for a couple of hours but it always comes back. This happen as soon as this cold front moved into Albuquerque and has been here since. The one day she felt good enough to get out of bed it was pretty nice out!. Am I crazy to think this has something to do with the weather. We also bought a new car and she will not ride in it because of the odor, she thinks that might be the cause? Do migraines last this long? We also have a 7 month old and the doctor are telling us that is when women usually get Migraines. We will try anything! Please help

Hi to all you migraine sufferer. I too suffer from migraines. I have four boys, and
had to have a hysterectomy (uterus removed only) four years ago. Since then
I have a migraine every 26 days which last 24 hours. (to some of you that would
be great.)
I have tried Imitrex, Wigraine, Verapamil, Elavil, Prozac and zomig with no
relief. My doctor gave me some samples of Maxalt-MLT 10 mg, it dissolves
on top of your tongue with 10 seconds. Two months in a row I had relief within
2 hours. It worked wonderful. Of course, I am not fully convinced until it relieves
them a few more times. But it is worth a try for migraine sufferers.
Of course, it is not covered my most insurances and is very expensive. But talk
to your doctors, they usually receive free samples from drug reps.
Please let me know if any of you find relief through this new drug.

I've posted here before concerning my own migraines, but this posting
is for a friend I used to work with that has migraines. Her
employer "Walmart" has written her up and given her bunches of points
against her attendance because of days missed because of migraines.
Several people have posted here in the past about the FMLA and also
disability from migraines. I quit my job because of snide remarks
and looks from management concerning my absences with migraines. I
just didn't need that stress. Anyway, if anyone has information they
could email me concerning the FMLA and getting disability from
migraines, I'd really appreciate it.
