Two days before my period, and a bad headache has made its presence felt. I wonder how many migraneurs out there suffer from their worst headaches right around their period. I have heard that Zomig is very good at treating the pain and other symptoms of headaches around periods. If anyone has had any success at all with this, please comment. I usually do get bad ones within the two weeks before to the week after my period. That's when it is at its worst.

Hi, pain people! I am glad to find you. I have woken up without a migraine for the first time in about 2 weeks. I have had 8 days of pain grade 10, with lesser pain on the other days. The thing that worries me is that I have had a lot of dizziness and nausea during this bout, even when my head was not hurting. Anyone else experience this? As an aside, I managed to call my dr. during this migraine, because it was lasting so long and had some unusual symptoms, and the nurse told me that "this sounds like an emotional problem." Unbelievable. Anyway, I have to call my employer about the time i've missed. I'm really worried about that-- I have a hard time getting others to understand. After a while, I just get mad about it. It seems to be bad enough that I have suffered so much-- why do I have to suffer a second time with every migraine when I have to defend myself to those who don't believe. I am so tired of being treated as a neurotic, lying individual. This disease is real. You all know that. Thanks for listening. I just needed to vent. God Blass You All.

My dear friend has been in the hospital for a week! Her husband says she hasn't slept in 2 weeks, and is in the fetal position in her hospital bed. He also said she is "not herself" and doesn't want visitors. She has become very depressed trying to deal with the pain over the last year. She has suffered from Migraines for as long as I've known her but they have become much more common and severe this last year. They seem to start with knots in the neck muscles. She is only 36 with four children who all have ADD. She has been going to the ER off and on for Demerol shots when the Immitrex didn't work. She has also been on Elavil or Prozac and other drugs which I don't know the names of. I just don't know how to help her or what I can do! I want to learn as much as I can! Any suggestions or information would be very helpful.

I have had cluster headaches every fall for the past 7 years. Imitrex injections have been wonderful, but only 2 injections are allowed in a 24 hr. period. I sometimes have up to 5 a night. I've tried prednisone, sansert ,lidocaine spray with no help.latest try will be oxygen during the headache and lithium. has any body tried these with sucess?.Glaxo says rebound does no occur with imitrex, I'm not so sure.Stadol doesn't stop the pain but stops me from jumping out the window because I can hardly walk.

I thought that I could go through the week without a bad headache, but one is coming on. I had to sit and do 8 straight hours of data entry. Normally during the day, I get breaks from that while working the public counter we run, but I was filling in on another job today, and now the tension of holding my neck stiff all day long caught up with me. They start out as tension headaches, but gradually build to migraine strength. It is really the pits sometimes. To Jana-hang in there. I hope things get better sleepwise. That is one thing that will trigger headache, not enough sleep, in me. That is probably why this one is coming on, too. That, and that time of month(period due sun) again.

My son has suffered from migraines for the past 7 years. He has been on Imitrex pills, injections and currently the nasal inhaler - none of them have brought him any relief. The pain has progressively gotten worse, not better over the years. During one of his attacks he landed in the ER to finally get relief he deserved. His doctor just prescribed Maxalt-MLT. Has anyone tried this? If so, please let me know what you thought of it - any relief? He is currently seeing a chiropractor and also taking Feverfew as preventive measures. At this point he will try anything for some kind of relief. Any other suggestions will be welcomed.
