I have been reading this site a while but have not written anything.,
I don't suffer from migranes but my mother has had them since she was a
teenager. My mum gets migranes quite often. But recently she was digonised
with a cyst on the brain. And they have been getting more severe and frequent.
I am 13 and worry constantly about my mum.
But i really don't know how to help her when she has a migrane.
She works full time as a teacher and this takes it's toll on her.
I wondering if there is any one out there that has people in their family that
suffers from migranes.
If you have people in your family that has migranes would you please e-mailme
God Bless

Hello Again, For once I have good news. Apparently Paxil is working
for me. I haven't had a true Migraine for at least 3 days. This is
nearly a record for me. I've had some small starters, but my meds have
kicked them out befor they could blossom. I hope that this is a sign
of things to come. Thanks to everyone who is e-mailing me with your
prayers... I think it helps. I know it helps to not feel isolated. God/dess
Bless. ~Dianna~

I recently stumbled across this article on migraines. Please help! I have had migraines for many years. Immitrex works great on an existing headache, but my Dr. will only give me 12 tabs per month. Does anyone else have restrictions like this? I am currently taking pamelor as a preventive...I feel like a zombi! Is there another preventative that will work? Please write back, anyone!

What a lifesaver it is to finally have hope again. I just found this site today while finally getting over a three day migraine. It is so incredibly frustrating to have to deal with incompetent doctors who won't prescribe pain medicine for fear of addiction. My neurologist prescribed Depacote, but it didn't seem to do much of anything. I've taken Paxil, Enderol, and countless other preventatives, but nothing is working. Imitrex is not an option because of the risk of stroke, and it didn't work anyway. I have numbness on my right side and in my face with most migraines. If anyone else has had this, please respond. According to my reg. doctor and my neurologist, there is nothing to worry about. They don't know why I'm numb, but there isn't anything to worry about.
My mother, as well as everyone else in my family (except for my husband) is convinced that a Tylenol will get rid of it. I however am convinced that if even 10% of men got migraines, there would have been a cure years ago.
Thank you Thank you Thank you. I so desperately need a vent.
