I just stumbled onto this site and am amazed at how many of you are suffering as I am. I have had migraines for 27 years and during that time I have been on many preventives and had several meds for the pain. I can not take the popular Imitrex, so am left to use the narcotics for the pain. After having migraines for as long as I have you pretty well resign yourself to the fact that this is your life. Which I have accepted, except that this year I have started having my migraines more frequently. Heat and humidity are one of my triggers and this summer has been terribly hot. I now have migraines weekly, with each one lasting 3-4 days. The only way I know that a "new" one is starting is that I get the visual disturbances (blindness, as I call it) at the beginning of each one. The blindness along with a feeling of detachment from my body as well as my surroundings last for about 45 minutes. Then the pain sets in.......and drugs, and coolness, and quietness, and darkness are the only things that will help me. Most of my family and friends are understanding and helpful, you can see in my face and my eyes when I have one. The ones that aren't, I would truly wish that they could suffer with one migraine, that would lay them flat on their back for 4-5 days. With pain so intense that it hurts to just move your head, much less try to walk. And don't even think about bending over to do anything. I also have the added stress of worrying about whether or not I am going to lose my job because of my migraines. I have been at the company I work for 7 months, and have missed alot of time due to my migraines. Now if I miss "59 minutes" more this month and "59 minutes" next month I could lose my job. More people who do not understand the severity of this disease. Thanks for this site and letting me have the opportunity to share my migraine stories too. Best of luck to everyone here and may one day we all be Migraine Free.......

NO MORE mygraines/cluster headaches. After 20+ years of suffering
from 4-6 mygraines per month; going to clinics, Doc's, Chiropractors,
Accupuncture; taking Corgard, Cafergot/PB, Emitrex, etc. IN 1997 I only
had 4 total mygraines for the year. My depression & mood swings are all
but gone.
The pruducts are about 4-5 years new, non-toxic, FDA regulated but do
not require a perscription. I'ld love to send anyone interested in
getting their life back any/all info I have. There's no reason to live
in pain or additiction to drugs. Please feel free to contact me at any
time.

Hi, I have had migraines for 19 years. I have had what they call 3 mini-stokes resulting from the pain. I just recently started going to a pain management dr who is really empathic toward the pain. I usually have 2-3 migraines per week. He gave a IV test with lidocaine through the bloodstream which helped about 50%. He put me on lidocaine pills and stadol ns when that does not control it. I am feeling better and we will see how long this last. Has anyone ever had this done. He stated if this didn't work he will do a nerve block. Best of Luck, Carolyn
