Journal of Migraine Sufferers
I recently have had the honor of meeting and working with a group of people who have a history of virtually continuous migraine of many years standing. They were the only people desperate enough to find my obscure little site in its beta test stage, not listed on any search engines. What I learned from them was that just facing life and keeping going required an incredible amount of courage. These are the most tough minded people you are likely to find anywhere. I didn't expect it to work out this way, but by that "accident" of how the site was parked on the net, I've met a group of spiritually evolved people....suffering apparently does that for you if it doesn't kill you. Most ofd them are migraine free now and serving as volunteer advisors at the site. Get in touch with one of these people at www.beyondmigraine.com and the best of luck and healing to you all.

I started having severe migranes that were triggered by movement. Coughing, laughing hard, sneezing, and/or rapid head movement. I would get a severe pain behind my left eye, the base of my skull and above my left eye. The intensity increased. The top of my head would be sore to the touch. No one can understand this pain unless they've gone through it. This went on and on. I was considering suicide at one point due to the chronic pain. In the past year, I had a migrane almost every single day. What quality of life is that? No honey, mom can't do that now, I have a headache. Sound familiar? I have been on everything. Finally I went to a female neurologist. She was sympathetic and caring. At first, she prescribed Depakote. It worked, but I gained 12 pounds in 2 weeks. I had a flat affect and could really care less about anything. I am a therapist by trade and was unalbe to concentrate on the needs of my clients. When I returned for my checkup, I informed her of my weight gain and she immediately prescribed Neruontin. I take 300 mg. 3X per day and it works like a miracle! No side effects, no weight gain. She also gave me Stadol nose spray. In 6 weeks, I have gone through one bottle. If I get a headache, they are less intense, no hallucinations, blurred vision, or auras. For me, this med has improved my quality of life! I feel like myself again! I hope this med will continue to work. I would appreciate any information from anyone, especially those on neurontin. Like I said eariler, no one can relate to what we go through. It is a living hell and I am filled with happiness since I found neurontin!
