Journal of Migraine Sufferers

I have been suffering with migraine about 16 years after I had a hysterectomy. My mother suffered all her life with migraines. She uses a prescription called Enderol. I have been using Imetrix both the nasal spray & the injection. I use Imetrix nasal spray when it first starts. I find it immediately takes headache away but only for about 2 hr. Severe migraine I use the Imetrix injection. My migraines increase because my job is stressful. I read in the Times Herald Record newspaper in Middletown, NY, that they did a survey on 27 people who had migraines for four months they used Vitamin B2 (about 400mg daily). You can only get Vitamin B2 at the health food store in 250 mg, but it is difficult to find. They only sell it in 50 mg. I also take a herb from the health food stores called Feverfew (400 mg). I have been using this since March 3 with one headache. I was getting them weekly, lasting 3 days. This combination of vitamins & herb has helped me get off all medication. I found that if I eat processed meats (lunch meat) or chinese food with MSG I will get a migraine. I will let you know in the next four months how I make out with Vitamin B2 & Feverfew. Information on feverfew is on the internet under Herbs.

THANK THE GREAT LORD I HAVE FOUND PEOPLE WHO ACTUALLY UNDERSTAND WHAT I AM GOING THROUGH. I AM A 20 YEAR OLD COLLEGE STUDENT AT THE UNIVERSITY OF MISSOURI IN COLUMBIA. GO TIGERS!!!! WE HATE KU BYE THE WAY!!! I STARTED OUT HAVING HEADACHES EVERYDAY WHEN I WAS IN JR. HIGH AND THEY HAVE GOTTEN WORSE EVER SINCE. I AM CURRENTLY TAKING AMIDRINE AND WAS TAKING DURADRIN. MY NEURO TOOK ALL OF HIS PATIENTS OFF OF THE DURADRIN BECAUSE OF BAD SIDE EFFECTS THAT HAVE NOT BEEN EXPRESSED TO ME YET. AS SOON AS THEY ARE I WILL UPDATE YOU. I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN A VERY ACTIVE ATHLETE AND THE DOCTOR TELLS ME THAT THIS IS TO MY BENEFIT TO GET EXERCISE TO HELP WITH STRESS. I AM NOT TOO SURE THAT MY HEADACHES ARE CAUSED BY STRESS. JUST LIKE SOME OF YOU I DO NOT THINK THAT THERE IS REALLY A KNOWN MEDICATION THAT WILL JUST ZAP THE HEADACHES FOR EVERYONE. I GET ALL OF THE COMMON SYMPTOMS AND MY MEDICATIONS WORK MAYBE 25% OF THE TIME. I USUALLY HAVE TO GO TO BED AND HOPE THAT THEY GO AWAY OR JUST SUFFER THROUGH THEM. I HAVE MISSED MANY DAYS AT WORK BECAUSE OF MY MIGRAINES AND I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO STUDY FOR BIG TESTS LIKE I WANT TO BECAUSE OF THEM. INSTEAD OF ALL OF US COMPLAINING HOW BAD THAT WE HAVE THINGS, WE SHOULD THANK THE LORD THAT WE HAVE THE ABLITY TO WALK, TALK, THINK, SPEAK, ETC. THINGS COULD BE MUCH WORSE. OUR PEERS, BOSSES, DOCTERS, PARENTS, CHILDREN ARE NEVER GOING TO UNDERSTAND, AND THIS DOES NOT MAKE THEM BAD PEOPLE. THIS IS NATURAL. SO MY ADVICE TO YOU IS TO GET YOUR MEDICATION FROM THE NEUROS, LET THEM HELP AS MUCH AS THEY CAN, AND SHUT UP AND SUFFER THROUGH IT JUST LIKE THE REST OF US WHO HAVE MIGRAINES. I LOOK AT IT THIS WAY... IF WE DIDN'T HAVE MIGRAINES WE WOULD HAVE TO HAVE SOMETHING ELSE. I AM TIRED OF HEARING PEOPLE COMPLAIN. ALL OF US WHO HAVE MIGRAINES KNOW WHAT THEY FEEL LIKE. I DO NOT FEEL SORRY FOR ANY ONE OF YOU. JUST DEAL WITH IT!!!! THAT'S ALL WE CAN DO AT THIS POINT.

My migraines have been getting worse in the last two years after the birth of my fifth child some people say its the nursing, but who knows. i am trying totake care of this naturally, because am really afraid of the drug cycles and dependency on pain relievers, I understand can be worse. I have had bad experiences in the past with certain drugs bad reactions that were worse than the migraine am currently trying to wean off elavil it caused me to gain 15lbs now some doctors say its not addictive, but some say it is just cant trust them. So i started on some herbs from sunrider international I heard some success stories with these products but will see god bless you all.

"everyone who comes to ER with a headache or backache are drug seekers" which really made me angry. I have tried midrin, tenormin, inderol, relefen, naprosyn, imitrex, but stadol is the only thing that seems to work.

I suffer migraines almost daily. Stadol NS works pretty well on them. After reading about all the addiction problems with stadol i'm not sure I want to keep taking it. I am an RN and I do home health care, this allows me to adjust my schedule quite a bit depending on how my migraines are that day. Anyway when I was in nursing school doing my ER rotation the head nurse told me that
